On November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Patriarchal Violence, we’re reminded to stand for a world free from violence and oppression. This day commemorates the Dominican activists and sisters María Teresa, Patria, and Minerva Mirabal, who lost their lives in 1960 because of their resistance to dictatorship. On this day, we remember all who have faced or fallen victim to patriarchal violence.
Let’s unite and make a powerful statement! Patriarchal violence, intersecting discrimination, and abuse of power remain disturbingly prevalent. That’s why we call on everyone: On November 25th, let’s amplify the voices of those affected and make our protest visible. Hang signs, banners, or posters from your windows to show that we no longer accept these patriarchal structures. Get creative at home, or join us for our Transpi Days!
